The neighbourhood of Jefferson in Richmond Hill continues to grow and but is larger than most neighbourhoods in Richmond Hill as it stretches from Bathurst Street on the West side to Bayview Avenue on the East side.  The South border is Gamble Road/19th Avenue and the North border is the Summit Golf & Country Club to the East of Yonge Street and to just before Philips Lake on the West side of Yonge Street.  The area has Yonge Street to rely on when it comes to transportation with both car traffic and York Region Transit busses using this main artery.  There is access to both Highway 404 to the East and Highway 400 to the West, which both will then take you to Highway 7, Highway 407 ETR and then eventually Highway 400.  Highway 404 can take you straight into the downtown Toronto core while Highway 400 can not.  If you wish something easier to get into the downtown core you can grab the Go Train from Keele Street and King Road to the West and enjoy a relaxing trip into the city.  There are two golf courses bordering the neighbourhood which will give you a challenge Summit Golf & Country Club as well as Bathurst Glen Golf Club.  There are also good parks in the area with Monticello Park at Yonge Street just by Tower Hill Road and Bond Park to the North of the Summit Golf & Country Club.  The area is known mostly for subdivision housing and does not have much in the way of retail development.  There are some developments on Yonge Street but nothing on Bayview Avenue or Bathurst Street.  The main retail has a Sobey'sDollaramaCanadian TireBMOTD Canada TrustStarbucks amongst other retail items.  The closest malls will be Hillcrest Mall to the South in the heart of Richmond Hill or Vaughan Mills Mall to the West which has tons of retail stores as well as many activities for children.  Also close by Vaughan Mills Malls is Canada's Wonderland which is a great place for kids and teenagers alike.
